AGAFAYSAHARA QUAD

Agafay Desert with Kids: A Family Guide to Quads, Camels and Camps

Planning · Updated

Family group riding camels in single file in the desert
Short answerAgafay is one of the easiest desert trips for families: it is only 40–50 minutes from Marrakech, and camel rides, buggy rides (children as passengers) and dinner shows suit most ages. Children usually ride quads only as passengers with an adult; tell us every child’s age when booking so we confirm the safest option.

Why Agafay works so well with children

Long desert road trips are hard with kids. Agafay is the opposite: a short transfer from your riad, a few hours of fun and back to Marrakech for bedtime — or a night in a family tent. The open landscape is safe, quiet and full of things children love: camels, quads, campfires and stars.

Best family plan (half day)

  1. Pick-up from your hotel around 14:30–15:30 depending on the season.
  2. Buggy ride for the adults with kids as passengers, or a camel ride for younger ones.
  3. Mint tea and snacks at the camp.
  4. Sunset over the Atlas, then back to Marrakech — or stay for dinner.

What to pack for kids

  • Closed shoes and long trousers
  • Sun hat, sunscreen and sunglasses
  • A warm sweater for after sunset (even in spring)
